Frequently Asked Questions
How
do I book an apartment?
Just get in touch with us, and we'll send you a form to fill out. You will then need to pay a four week bond, which will be held in trust for the term of your stay by the Bond Administration
Board of WA. If the apartment is neat and clean when you leave, the bond will be returned in full.
The bond will
also hold the apartment for you ie. it secures the property for the time you want to rent it.
How
can I pay for the bond and/or rent?
If you decide you wish to rent one of our properties, payment can
be arranged in a number of ways. We are happy if you wish to pay us in cash for the first payment of the bond
(four weeks' rent), plus the first two weeks' rent. This can be done at the time of signing up the paperwork
for the lease. However, subsequent to that, you will need to pay the money into our bank account (we will give you the
account details so this can be done). This can be done by visiting an ANZ branch in person, or by electronically transferring
the money into our account over the internet. This requires you to either have cash (for payment in person) or a cheque
or savings account (for internet transfer).
If you wish to pay by credit card, we are also able to send you an
email invoice that allows payment through PayPal. PayPal is a safe method of transferring money over the internet, where each person's account details are protected
from being viewed. Please note, however, that due to the related charges, we will add a 3% surcharge for any PayPal
transaction. This is a useful way of paying for your rent in the event that you have been given a company credit card
to cover your expenses.
Are the apartments close to Perth city?
Glendalough is
very close to both Perth and Scarborough Beach by car or public transport. If you have a car, the city is less than
ten minutes away (via the Mitchell Freeway), and the beach is less than a fifteen minute drive. The local
public transport links are excellent - Glendalough Train Station is only two stops from Perth, and the buses run regularly.
Each apartment has information on bus and train timetables, and Jen and Chris are happy to help if you have any questions.
Osborne Park is equally conveniently located to the city and the beach (map to be added soon, please check back).
How long do you rent the apartments for?
We rent out the apartments for a minimum period
of two months. If you are looking for a slightly shorter time period, please feel free to get in touch and we can discuss
your requirements further. If you are looking for a long term lease we are also happy to speak to you and see if we
can help you out.
What about airconditioning and/or heating?
All our apartments
have reverse cycle air conditioners (ie. both refrigerated cooling for summer, and heating for winter) installed in the living
areas. Pedestal fans are provided for the bedrooms for those warm summer nights. In addition, electric
heaters are provided for the cooler weather.
What do I need to bring with me?
Just
your toothbrush, and any food you want to bring with you. Everything else is provided!
Sounds great,
can I move in this weekend?
Well, it depends! Availability of the apartments depends on whether they
are currently leased to other tenants. If you get in touch with Jen via email (perthfurnishedrentals@gmail.com) or mobile (0403 315 772) she'll be able to give you more details.
Where can I go for more information? There are a few different
websites about Perth and Australia which have useful info - try the following:
While
these sites are UK-oriented, they cover a wide range of information ranging from issues such as local transport options to
schooling and cost of living.
